Why a rug shop, not a carpet truck

Why can’t the carpet cleaner just do my rug while he’s here?

It’s a fair question — half of Weston has wall-to-wall carpet and a couple of good rugs in the same house.

Here’s the difference. Carpet is glued and stretched in place, built to be scrubbed where it lies. A hand-knotted rug is a textile: wool or silk pile tied onto a cotton foundation, colored with dyes that were never meant to sit under a hot extraction wand.

Steam-clean a fine rug on your patio and three things go wrong quietly: the grit stays trapped in the foundation, the dyes can migrate, and the rug dries slowly and unevenly — which is exactly how browning and mildew start in our humidity.

A rug that cost thousands deserves a bath, not a scrub-down.

So we do it the old way, in our own shop: measured, tested, dusted, washed with a natural pH shampoo, and speed-dried in a controlled room. Cotton, wool, silk, antique, Navajo, shag — the full process is here.

And when a rug honestly doesn’t need the shop — a newer synthetic that can be safely cleaned at home — we’ll tell you, and save you the money.

Wool, silk & everything hand-knotted

Rugs we clean at the Weston shop

Different fibers and dyes need different handling — that’s the whole point of testing first. Every rug below gets the full in-plant treatment: measured, pH and dye tested, dusted, washed, speed-dried.

From your door and back

What happens after we pick up your rug?

Pre-inspect & test

We measure the rug, note wear, spots, and repair needs, then run pH and dye-stability tests. You get the exact price before anything else happens.

Dust

Pounds of dry grit hide below the pile — Weston’s sandy soil is famous for it. We beat and vacuum it out before the rug ever sees water.

Wash

A full wet wash with natural pH shampoo, matched to the fiber and the dyes. Gentle on delicate wool and silk, thorough on ground-in soil.

Speed-dry

Into our temperature and humidity controlled drying room. Fast, even drying is what keeps colors from bleeding into each other.

Groom & deliver

Pile brushed, fringe combed, final inspection — then back to your home. Large-rug pickup and delivery is free across Broward County.

Pricing, the honest way

Why don’t we quote rug cleaning over the phone?

Because two rugs the same size can need completely different work.

A machine-made 8×10 in good shape is a straightforward wash. The same size hand-knotted rug with unstable dyes, a decade of grit, and a pet accident in one corner is a different job entirely.

What sets the price: measured size, fiber and construction, dye stability, soil level, pet contamination, and whether fringe or edges need repair.

So we inspect first, then quote — once, in writing, before we start.

The pre-inspection is free, and the number we give you when your rug arrives is the number on the invoice. No coupons, no phone-quote games, no surprises at delivery.

Done by hand, in-house

Repairs handled at the same Weston shop

Wear we spot at inspection gets a straight recommendation: fix it, leave it, or — if the repair would cost more than the rug is worth — skip it. All repair work is done by hand, by us, never shipped out. See the repair work →

We’re a family business at Town Center Circle, not a franchise call center. When you call, you talk to the people who will actually handle your rug — before, during, and after the job.

Most of our work comes from Weston families we’ve served for years, and the neighbors they send us.

Straight answers

What Weston rug owners ask us

Is there a real rug washing shop in Weston, or do you ship rugs away?

Your rug stays local. We’re based at Town Center Circle in Weston, and every rug is inspected, washed, dried, and repaired by us — nothing subcontracted, nothing trucked out of the area. Drop off by appointment, or ask about pickup.

Do you pick up rugs from Weston Hills, Bonaventure, and The Ridges?

Yes. Free pickup and delivery for large rugs covers all of Weston — Weston Hills, Bonaventure, Savanna, The Ridges, Isles at Weston, Windmill Ranch and more — plus Southwest Ranches, Davie, and Sunrise. Full service-area list here.

How do you know it’s safe to wash my rug?

We test before we wash: every rug gets a pH test and a dye-stability check at pre-inspection. Some older vegetable-dyed rugs will bleed if washed the wrong way — if yours is a bleed risk, we adjust the process and show you what we found first.

How much does rug cleaning cost in Weston?

We price after inspection, not before. Size, fiber, dye stability, soil, pet contamination, and repairs all change the job, so a phone quote would be a guess. Your exact cost is set when we inspect the rug — before any work begins.

Can you get pet urine odor out of a wool rug?

Usually, yes — we soak the rug to dissolve the urine salts that surface cleaning can’t reach. Old or repeated contamination can be stubborn, and we’ll tell you honestly at inspection what result to expect. More on pet odor removal.

Can you repair fringe, holes, or moth damage as well as clean?

Yes — by hand, at our own shop: fringe repair and replacement, side and edge work, holes, moth damage, dry rot, resizing, and full restoration. If a repair isn’t worth the money, we’ll say so plainly.

How long will you have my rug?

Most rugs are home in about a week. Controlled speed drying is what protects the colors, so we don’t rush it. Rugs that also need hand repairs take longer — you’ll get an honest timeline at inspection.
